About Your Psychologist
Hoor Elbakry
Clinical Psychologist
Hoor works from the belief that her clients are the experts in their own lives — no one knows your story like you do. Her role is to share evidence-based knowledge, clinical experience, and professional insights and adapt that to you.
Therapy with Hoor is collaborative, flexible, and responsive. She doesn’t follow a fixed template — she tailors her approach to suit each individual, revisiting your preferences as many times as needed so therapy remains aligned with your changing needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions. Here are answers to some of the most common ones.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any relevant background. This is a collaborative conversation — there is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with. Together, we will develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on your unique needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term focused therapy (6–12 sessions), while others prefer longer-term support. We will regularly review your progress and adjust as needed.
Yes. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates. Please speak with your GP about obtaining a referral, and our team can guide you through the process.
I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, and schema therapy. The approach is always tailored to what works best for you and your specific concerns.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Everything discussed in sessions remains strictly confidential, with very limited legal exceptions that will be explained during your first session. Your privacy and trust are paramount.
You can book an appointment by using the contact form on this page, calling us directly, or sending an email. We will respond promptly to arrange a time that suits you.
