Getting Started

Therapy can benefit anyone experiencing emotional difficulty, stress, relationship challenges, or simply wanting to understand themselves better. You do not need to be in crisis to seek support. If something is affecting your quality of life, sense of wellbeing, or ability to function day-to-day, therapy is worth exploring. A brief initial conversation with us can help you decide if it feels like the right fit.

Your first session is a collaborative conversation — there is no pressure to share more than you are comfortable with. We will explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your goals and any relevant background, and begin forming a picture of what you are hoping to gain. By the end of the session we will start to outline a personalised treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.

No, a referral is not required to book an appointment. You can contact us directly to arrange your first session. However, if you wish to access Medicare rebates under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you will need a referral from your GP. We recommend discussing this with your doctor prior to your first appointment.

You can book by completing the contact form on our website, calling us directly on 03 7076 3333, or sending an email. We aim to respond to all enquiries within one business day to arrange a time that suits you.

There is nothing you need to bring. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan or referral letter from your GP, it is helpful to have a copy, but not essential — we can obtain this from your doctor if needed. Most importantly, come as you are.
